Mark your calendars! CSTWS is putting on a wildlife policy and governance across Canada symposium, to be held April 12th and 13th at the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa!
This symposium is a unique opportunity to bring together a network of individuals, organizations, governments and Indigenous Nations to share insights and discuss how we can better support, strengthen and collaborate on wildlife conservation across Canada. Don't miss your opportunity to be part of this conversation!
The symposium will feature a keynote speaker, presentations, a plenary discussion, breakout workshops, and networking. The plenary will include themes on strengthening the voice of science in federal decision-making processes or activities for wildlife conservation, establishing and promoting good partnerships and wildlife stewardship, and taking specific actions through supporting on-the-ground action for wildlife conservation and management. A key outcome for this symposium will be to start building a more collaborative network to facilitate information sharing and science with Indigenous Nations, academia, wildlife professionals, and non-governmental organizations.
We are currently seeking sponsorships to support this symposium. Donations will receive a charitable receipt and will go directly towards offsetting costs to bring in our panel members and also to create a fund that can be used to help offset travel costs for Indigenous participants. If you'd like to donate, please contact our Executive Director, at [email protected].
Have you been to the Canadian Museum of Nature before? One highlight of the symposium is that participants will get free admission to the museum to explore during breaks! It is a gorgeous building with lots of history and an interesting place to spend some time!
